Wanie - Bridal Makeup Workshop - Part 2

Date: 10th February 2010

It is the last makeup session for Wanie. Since the first session, Wanie has improved a lot especially on her foundation application skills and shading skills. I know that she still havent got the confidence yet but I do admire her courage and her eagerness to learn. Anyhow, the best advice that I can give her is to keep on practicing. Insya-Allah she will gain more confident.

Umi & Syaza - before makeups. Hot rollers were put on.

From left: Umi, Wanie and Syaza. This picture was taken after the end of the session. As an appreciation, a certificate was given to Wanie.

You can see the colours differences. Technique used are all the same...

For Umi - Wanie is practicing the smokey eye technique (using two colours). Wanie is really brave enough to try vibrant colours. The outcome are really gorgeous.

Syaza - light & dark purple smokey eyes were applied with nude colour lips. Colours are Wanie's choices.

Hairstyle done by me.

Date: 9th February 2010

Today's makeup session is about classic eye technique.

Syaza - classic eye. The makeup colour theme for tonight is the colour choices of Wanie. She is using 4 eyeshadow colours - light blue, dark blue, black and with highlight colour for the browbone. The colour theme are more to dramatic makeup. Can be used for evening functions, stage shows, etc.

Umi makeups tonight looks totally different from the previous makeup session. I adviced Wanie to used a more maximum coverage foundation to cover Umi's scar on her forehead and also the 'panau' (heheh sorry Umi...) on her face. She even looks more mature and sweet. Her natural classic eye techniques does suit her. The colour of choice are not to bad. Sweet and natural and suitable for Nikah event, prewed photoshoot, daily makeups and etc.

You can see the colour differences. The technique that have been used here are the same. Colours play an important roles in makeups application.

Wanie - Bridal Makeup Workshop 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 9th & 10th February 2010 - Part 1

Date: 2nd February
This is my first Bridal workshop. My makeup artist student for this session is Wanie. My makeup model is Syaza (my niece). I will upload more pic after the end of this bridal workshop next week. Anyhow, the first session was basically about introduction of makeups, tools of the trade, application of foundation, corrective makeup, shading and highlighting and application of blusher.

Date: 3rd February
Wanie (left) and Syaza - this is our second session workshop - she did a great job there. I taught her how to do a colour-wash eye makeup technique. Mastering the natural makeup technique is a must before practising a more dramatic makeups. As Frankie Fong had taught me many months ago LESS IS MORE... Syaza's makeups' looks more fresh and natural.

Date: 5th February

This is our third session. I taught Wanie on how to do a socket eye makeup technique. I even called up my two nieces Syaza and Umi to be our model of the day. Wanie had a whole lot of practice today with the two models.

Syaza (Age 16) - before makeup

Wanie applying makeups on Syaza. I put on the hot curler inorder to achieve wavy hair

The makeup outcomes... makeup colours are of Wanie's choices.

Syaza - after makeup. She looks more mature with this natural socket eye technique and wavy hair.

Wanie and Syaza....

Syaza with a different hairdo (simple bun)

This is Umi (age 15). Unfortunately Umi's eyes' shapes were not suitable for socket eye technique. Instead, Wanie used a colour-wash eye technique for her.

I managed to take this photo post makeup, because she is the second last to be put on makeup, so I don't have much time to take her photos. Anyhow, Wanie called it a gothic makeup theme. Wanie choosed her own makeup colours. The outcome is not to bad after all.

The Smokey Eye Makeup Workshop - behind the scene

Syaza, our makeup model of the day, please bear in mind, in this workshop I only did a basic makeup with basic smokey eyes, no shading and no highlighting.

One of the participant - Shikin - during the D.I.Y. session...

The four participants of the day, from left - Fatihah, Wanie, Tiara and Shikin. Look at the table, those are their own makeup tools and cosmetics.

This is my makeup station - in a privacy room, so my kids and my maid won't be snopping around... participants can have a full concentration during the demonstration.

Got no high chair, so the best things that I can do is just arranged the plastic chairs like this... so easy for me to do the demonstration and I won't hurt my back. For relaxation, I put on slow music...

That pink makeup case looks really cool and cute... ;) having this extra table in the room really gave me the advantage because participants can put on their makeup stuffs on it...

Date: 31 January 2010, Sunday from 9 am to 12 noon.

It was a successfull workshop. Thanks to the participants: Fatihah (she sell makeups, you guys can browse her blog at http://www.e-ridz.blogspot.com/) , Wanie, Shikin and Tiara. All of them are really great to hang around. Special thanks to my niece Syaza who was willing to be our model of the day, without her help it will be very impossible to do makeup demonstration. During this workshop, I did 3 basic smokey eye demonstrations using different colours (from natural, medium and dark colours) but before that, I did gave them a brief explanation on how to apply good foundation base and other basic makeup application.

Anyhow, during the beginning of the workshop, I forgot to click-click around with my camera, I was suppose to take picture of my new working station, my model before makeup and my participants. I was so forgetful.. but during the middle of the workshop, I managed to snap a few pics.
